If you’re up for a challenge, a short rock hop will get you closer to the falls and the hot springs nearby, and that’s perfect for a soak.

The best time to visit Trafalgar Falls is during the dry season from December to April when the weather is more stable and the water levels are consistent. The entrance fee to Morne Trois Pitons National Park is around $5 USD per person and you can pay it at the visitor centre, right at the entry.

The trail is about 1 mile long (1.6km) and despite the difficulty, it’s rewarding with lush rainforest scenery and the sound of the waterfall guiding you to the falls.

Just like Victoria Falls, there’s no entrance fee but you’ll want to go with a local guide in case you’re out of shape.

Spanny Falls

Location: Near the village of Belles

Spanny Falls near the village of Belles is a two-tiered waterfall with a lovely hike through scenic forest. And this list of Dominica waterfalls wouldn’t be complete without it!

The hike (more a walk than a hike) to Spanny Falls is short and easy so most visitors can do it, you can complete it in just about 10 minutes.

The entrance fee to Spanny Falls is just $5 USD per person and can be paid at a small kiosk (a yellow store, you can’t miss it) near the trailhead.

There’s a $5 USD entrance fee but the trail is in excellent condition and that’s worth every penny.

That being said, you’ll cross the water several times so make sure to bring water shoes.

There are two car parks, one right by the front that you can use for free and the other one inside the private property and you’ll have to pay. The latter is usually used by tour buses so I recommend the former.

Chaudière Pool

Location: Near Bense village in the north

Chaudière Pool near Bense village in the north of Dominica is a lovely spot with a small but beautiful waterfall that flows into a natural pool.

First things first, you’ll have to go off-road and I recommend either hiring a local guide or renting a 4×4 vehicle in Roseau. Once you get there, it’s about a 30 to 45-minute walk to the pool, and I do not recommend coming with flip-flops. Instead, wear shoes with a good grip.

There’s no entrance fee which is a bonus, but I don’t recommend coming if it’s been raining the night before as the trail gets very slippery.

Jacko Falls

One of the best features here is the flora and fauna – Not that it’s not impressive all around Dominica, but you’ll particularly find plenty of birds, lizards, and other small insects, and that makes the site even more unique.

There are no facilities here, so you’ll want to stop at the nearby restaurant, Paradise Cafe Penville, for a restroom break or a snack before going on the trail.
