It’s not every day you wake up and have to rub your eyes a few extra times, splash your face, even slap yourself round the face, just to make completely sure you’re not dreaming. It’s not every day you wake up in paradise, in a Royal Villa built on stilts over the ocean, overlooking the Koh Rong Archipelago. For five days I lived like a celebrity, enjoying the ‘Millionaire Lifestyle’, as a #MegaFriday Prize Tester for Euromillions and The National Lottery. Exploring everything this great resort has to offer. And this Friday it could be you, as EuroMillions are making 10 UK Millionaires all winning a Private Island Getaway, to Song Saa Private Island, which I have been lucky enough to test for you.

Song Saa, Khmer for ‘The Sweethearts’ are two small islands Koh Ouen and Koh Bong, connected only by a footbridge. The islands scream luxury, but pride themselves on intimacy, harmony and nature. It’s an escape in every sense of the word. When you first arrive by speed boat no less, you realise things are done differently here, whether it’s the beaming smiles that welcome you, the relaxed and chilled out vibe, or the feeling of complete relaxation when you sip that cocktail by the infinity pool.

The Royal Villa
Not everyone will be able to afford to come here, that’s why it’s a Millionaire Lifestyle experience, which I got to test with EuroMillions for you, so certainly not everyone will afford the Royal Villa. They have a variety of over-water, ocean-view and jungle villas to choose from. However, if you can, and you want one of the most discreet, private and luxurious locations in South East Asia, with your own private jetty, ample space and a private infinity pool, then look no further. Forget two bedrooms, this place has two wings! Each wing with a huge four poster bed, massive bath tub, 3 showers including one outdoors to really get in touch with nature (I loved this). Then there’s an enormous lounge and dining area, a big kitchen with all the fresh ingredients to make a your favourite drink. And most importantly a fridge fully stocked fridge, which is refilled again each morning. And did I mention the private infinity pool?
Fine Dining
As an All-inclusive resort it’s easy to assume the food will be good, but I wasn’t prepared for how much time and effort went into some of the most exquisite fine dining I’ve ever experienced in my life. Every meal had 5 or so delicious courses, built around a theme, often local, always fresh, and set up in a number of sublime candle-lit locations around the island. There are also two restaurants on the island, the first the award winning Vista Bar and Restaurant, where you simply won’t find a better location anywhere in the world. The second the more relaxed Driftwood Bar, a beach front retreat where you can eat food and drink cocktails at most points during the day, and I did!
Activities
You can relax all day everyday, but if you’re like me and can’t sit still, there’s enough activities and day trips to keep you entertained for weeks. If you want some recommendations, this is my list of my must do activities, whilst enjoying the millionaire lifestyle.
- Sea Kayaking around the islands
- Prek Svay Village visit
- Snorkelling around the Island Reef
- The Mangrove Kayaking tour
- Sunrise or Sunset Yoga
- Rainforest Encounter on Koh Bong
- A traditional full body Massage
- Sailing & Scuba Diving (weather permitting)
- Water skiing & Wakeboarding
So what’s missing? Well, nothing! When you leave you’ll instantly miss the chilled Island-life vibe and your new Song Saa family, who’ll wave you goodbye on departure. There’s not many places I’ll make sure I go back to one day, OK I’m pretty sure it won’t be living the millionaire lifestyle again (unless I get lucky in this weeks EuroMillions Mega Friday), but with the Song Saa Foundation perhaps? Or even Koh Rong, an affordable backpacker paradise. Either way I hope this part of Cambodia will see me again someday soon.
Don’t forget to play Mega Friday this week for your chance to win £1 Million plus a private island getaway!

I flew to Song Saa as a Prize-tester for EuroMillions and The National Lottery, therefore my experience was complimentary. However all of the content, opinions and photography are my own, and I have not been paid for any part of this trip or article.
